ImageChef.com - Custom comment codes for MySpace, Hi5, Friendster and more

Yes, I am one day behind and it’s always better late than never. Blogger Appreciation Day [Unofficial] began with Darren Rowse from Problogger and as I received some love from Derek Semmler at Derek Semmler Dot Com (thank you for reminding me Derek) I wanted to join in and give my own bit of link love away to my readers who have commented on Buzzing with Ange (not original I know), and also to some random peeps I come across on a daily basis online on one social network or another. I would like to acknowledge you as without you, the conversation wouldn’t go on, and please know that I do appreciate your thoughts and support recently regarding my Dad who will be home in a day or two! He is doing extraordinarily well.

Like Darren, I also receive from time to time, emails and messages from people who have appreciated something I have said or written about and I have to tell you that I feel very blessed to have this opportunity of meeting and sharing with you online and I do enjoy our dialogue so keep them coming!

Now to a list of bloggers who all have something to contribute in their own way so if you haven’t already visited them, please make a point to check out their wonderful sites.

Kurek Ashley had many roles in the movies as the bad guy so he is not well remembered because let’s face it… who Kurek Ashley remembers the bad guy. I met Kurek just over one year ago at Nik Halik’s Money Masters seminar here in Melbourne. Kurek has worked with John Travolta, Sylvester Stalone and Russell Crowe, to name a few.

Today I listened to Sarah Wilson from Adventure Coaching interview Kurek live and his story is amazing. During his acting career, while working in Asia on the movie Delta Force 2 with Chuck Norris, there was a helicopter crash in which five of his friends were killed. His best friend died in his arms on the way to hospital. Just prior to the tragic loss of lives, Kurek himself had been in that same helicopter as 20 takes were rehearsed and filmed. You can maybe only begin to imagine how that made him feel.

After that incident, Kurek turned to using recreational drugs, drinking alcohol, violence and multiple attempts at suicide. Every day he held a .38 claibre revolver to his head in order to end the pain he was feeling until three years later, he made a decision. A decision where he chose to put an end to the destructive lifestyle he was living. He turned his life around by quitting the drugs and alcohol and reading self-help books, using affirmations with purpose and not long after this, he was running seminars in the US.

Life Success Coach

Today, Kurek is a Life Success Coach and holds the world record for the longest fire walk ever being 81 metres in length. In his interview, Kurek said that he is very efficient and that he fits everything in. The powerful tool with which he uses to manage this is his brain.

If your brain picks up that you are happy with your life, you will achieve more results. Feeling grateful for what you already have in your life is equal to love, and feeling the love attracts more love to you.

He also says,

Once you have a thought, put it into action immediately as once you put things on the back-burner, it loses it’s urgency. You must also be willing to DO what the average person is not willing to do and even though today could be the worst day in your life, for someone else, it may be the best day in their lives, if they happen to be having the same kind of day as you!

Kurek uses affirmations like

I am Fortunate

I am Successful

I am Grateful

These are very simple to remember and you could use these easily throughout your day. Say them out loud like you mean it and notice the difference it makes to the way you feel.

Kurek also coached the Australian Womens Volleyball team to win Gold in the Sydney 2000 Olympics. At one seminar he ran, Natalie Cook was sitting in his audience and Kurek suggested that nobody would buy a book from the athlete that won the bronze medal. So after the seminar was over, Natalie walked up to him and said…

I stood on the third box… and I know you have the tools to help me win Gold.

So with that, Kurek coached Natalie Cook and Kerri Ann Pottharst for two and a half years to go on and win that Gold Medal here in Australia on their home soil.

Moral of the Story

With this little knowledge I have given you here, my wish is for you to see that anything is possible. You do not need to go through a state of depression like Kurek did and lead a self destructive lifestyle in order to find the answers within which will give your life’s purpose. Rather, we each have our own little demons and voices in our heads which pop up from time to time and if we listen to these voices and let them take control of our lives, we end up down in the dumps.

Brainstorming to find the things you are passionate about and and writing down a list of goals you want to achieve, broken down into baby steps will give you the desire to do the things that need to be done and once you can work efficiently, you will achieve the results you want to achieve.

Tell me how you deal with the voices in your head. Do you listen to them? Do you let them take over? If not, what steps have you taken to take control of your life? Feel free to share.

It’s funny you know… how many times can you recall saying that you can’t do something because you can’t afford it. I bet those words have sprouted from your mouth 1000 times or more over the years… or have they? Don’t worry, I also have been guilty of this in the past.

Since I started with personal development, my idea of not being able to afford something has changed to how can I afford something. We are all born into our own set of circumstances whether it be the country we live in or the family we are born into. We become conditioned in a certain way of thinking and that is what we believe to be so. So unless we change our thoughts and our idea about money, we may never be able to afford that cruise or that skiing trip or even that new car as an example.

Visual Poetry - ImageChef.com

Before I came across some of my teachers like Bob Proctor and Dr John Demartini from The Secret, I never believed that I could achieve any kind of financial freedom. I always believed that I had to go to school, get good grades, find a good job and then live off my retirement money which really doesn’t seem to be able to cover the bills for most retirees these days.So let me enlighten you on the 100 people story. The following facts exist for every 100 people at age 65 in Australia.

  • 25 are dead
  • 20 have annual incomes under $10,000 (below poverty level)
  • 51 have annual incomes between $10,000 and $35,000
  • 4 have annual incomes over $35,000
  • yet 1 in every 100 is a millionaire

Here’s another interesting fact:

When Social Security was started, there were 16 people working for every one person on the program. Today, that ratio is 3:1 and in the next 12 years, it is projected to be 1:1 (Source: The Millionaire Next Door)

Scary stuff I say! It’s not a pretty picture that is painted here. So if the idea problem is that we don’t have enough money, how are we going to change our way of thinking and turn that around?

Affirmations

I have found that using affirmations is a great way to help re-train the brain if you like and change that prior conditioning that I was brought up with. I love my parents and I am grateful that they gave me life and because they came from a generation that was born before WWII, when there was a real scarcity factor, that is the way they were conditioned and therefore passed it onto me. So, by using affirmations, it has helped me to think differently and scarcity need not be a factor any more. After all, we do live in an abundant universe where we have all that we need. We just need to tap into the abundance.
Some examples of affirmations are:

  • I am grateful that I live in an abundant universe
  • I now release any and all barriers to my financial and personal success
  • I earn, save, spend and invest my money wisely
  • My money creates more money
  • Every thought I have is transformed into abundance

Simple statements that can be read every day at different intervals throughout your day. You can repeat them whilst showering in the morning to start your day in that state of gratitude and abundance. I even know a couple of people who get on a rebounder and chant their affirmations while they are bouncing! Whatever works for you is great and if you need to adjust the words in the statements a little to make it feel right for you, all the better. Go ahead and create your day to one of abundance. These were examples I thought I would share with you.

Now if you have read this and think that money is not important, I challenge you to walk into a supermarket, fill up your trolley and try to walk out without paying for it. How far do you think you will get? Money is important. Some people would like to have more of it so I am sharing a few things that have helped me change my mindset around it and learn how to make it and how to make it work for me! I am on my way to achieving the financial freedom that I desire and live the life I love to live. How about you?

Who else aside from me is still recovering from the whole holiday season? Here at our place, we are preparing to go away for a little R & R and keeping the kids entertained while I get things in order and keep up with all my favorite haunts and getting some work done is proving what else, but a challenge :)

Having said that, I wanted to update you on what has been happening in my cyberworld. I was pleasantly surprised and honored to be in amongst this list of bloggers awarded by the spunky Mauro of 1 Million Love Messages with this Inspiring Great Blog Award. The list of all those awarded blogs are included here and thank you Mauro for including me in this list.

Those of you that may not know, 1 Million Love Messages is a place to share our best loving feelings with the whole wide world. This Blog is made - almost entirely - by the readers. In this project Mauro receives and publishes Love Messages sent by people from all around the world.

This is where you can share what you feel for someone special in your life… Or where you can simply share a Love Thought with the world. It’s a Blog about love in our life… love in the world.

Now for the meme which the lovely Muse from Inspired Day by Day and because I got in a little late, Peter from St Vincents Hospital Male Nurses also tagged me with the same meme. I will take a leaf out of Peter’s blog and write about some of the sites and their owners that have really inspired me this last year.

Glenda Watson Hyatt Glenda Watson Hyatt who is also know as the Left Thumb Blogger is a lady with cerebral palsy. She has followed her dream of writing and publishing a book called I’ll Do It Myself. Glenda has also produced a video of herself showing how she blogs using only her left thumb… hence the name. Thanks for the inspiration Glenda :)

Spread the Love Now Urban Monk is a new site I discovered a little while ago. Albert has teamed up with two other monks - Wade of The Middle Way and Kenton of Zen-Inspired Self Development to Spread the Love Now in the form of a writing project which is to write a post about compassion. There were close to 50 blogs that participated so you will find loads of articles on compassion for inspiration in that list.

WAHM Blog The WAHM blog is a very resourceful site for any woman wanting to work from home. There are lots of tips and free handy tools to make any website just right. Tara is a very successful business woman in her own right and runs several business as well as taking care of her family. A must see site.

I think that I have given you plenty to look at and read through. I would also like to remind you of my gift offer of a book by Jamie McIntyre called What I Didn’t Learn at School but Wish I Had which you can find in my first video recording I made and posted here. The offer remains open until the end of January, and the interview I did with George Kedourie which you can find at his site. It was my first ever interview and a great learning curve! I am attempting to learn all about Web 2.0 mediums which are available to use with marketing.

More inspiring stuff to come shortly. Until then, have fun!
