This post will see the final entries from Phillip Day’s seminar I went to on 100 Ways to be Happier and Healthier.

11: Touch Base. Contact someone who thinks you have forgotten them and give them a surprise. Find out what’s been going on in their lives of late.

10: Dental Health. Very important not to forget about your oral hygiene. Do not leave yourself with a toxic bite!

7: Read a good book. Get your mind off things and engross yourself in a good story.

6: Give to charities that do the job right. The “World Cancer Research Foundation” is the first one that comes to mind.

5: Forget the lottery. It’s a tax on greed.

4: Be thankful. An attitude of gratitude makes your day more prosperous.

3: Enjoy music.

2: Help others and congratulate them on their achievments. You may be the only one doing it.

1: Leave a Legacy. Have a point to it all. What will be said of you when you are no longer here?

Mmmmmm……. somthing to think about.

Well I trust that you gained a few distinctions out of these posts dedicated to Phillip Day. Even if only one thing stands out for you, it’s one more than you had before.

Yours in Happiness and Health

We are on the home stretch now. 29 and counting…

29: There is danger in excess. Remember moderation in all things.

28: Obtain control over your sense of certainty. Try this out would you. Stand up and slouch over with your eyes looking at the floor. How does it make you feel? Not sure? Do you feel that if you went into an important meeting in this state that you would get your point across? More than likely NO. Now stand up straight, head up, eyes looking forward, feet planted firmly on the ground. How do you feel in this state? More certain? You know where you are headed and no-one can get in your way. You feel strong don’t you? Well, you being in a state of certainty changes your biochemistry so that gives you a sense of knowing and feeling good. Have faith and be good at what you do.

26: Climb stairs whenever you can and then go down and up them again.

24: Avoid sugar and fat free items. We all know about sugar and what it does to us, but how about all the “fat free” items we have on our supermarket shelves? They are actually full of sugar. Next time you are shopping read the ingredients on the packaging. I’m sure you will be surprised. The fats which are called Omega-6 and Omega-3 fats are essential fats, because we only get them through the foods we eat. The fats which are called saturated are the bad fats. We get saturated fats from all the meat and dairy in our daily diet. Check that you do not eat too many trans-fats or better still, avoid them all together.

23: Do Not Break The Law. Simple enough.

21: Finding the right person is being the right person.

20: Dare to Dream! There are NO limits.

19: Be Inspired! Listen to or read something that will inspire you and move you towards achieving your dreams.

18: Avoid dreamkillers. That is, share your dreams with those who will support you and not with those that will not.

15: Enjoy silence. In silence we can get the answers to our questsions in life.

Yours in Health!

Have you had a chance to look at Phillip Day’s site yet? It is well worth a look and especially at the book section. I did mention earlier when talking about psychiatry the he has written a great book called “The Mind Game” which is an interesting read.

41: Manage your anger. Studies have been taken out on violent criminals and it has been found that 100% of violent criminals are hypoglycemic. Hypoglycemia can produce a variety of symptoms and effects but the principal problems arise from an inadequate supply of glucose as fuel to the brain resulting in impairment of function. So the trigger for anger is, again, nutrionally controlled.

38: Reduce red meat and grains and especially no pork! Pork contains the highest amount of carcinogens than any other meat. It is all about the chemical processes it goes through before it gets to our tables.

36: Give yourself permission to recover. If you are hit by a bug, then you must allow your body to recover in order to return back to your optimum performing state.

35: If you find it difficult to eat raw veggies, then juice them and make them a part of your daily routine.

34: Own a good conscience. Be blameless.

33: Exercise prevention. Keep your body healthy and free from harm. Do not get sick in the first place. Knowledge is power.

32: Deal with Addictions. Do not let them override your life.

31: AVOID NATIONAL MEDIA. Can you tell I totally agree with this one? Personally, I keep away from television and newspapers. They are bad for your mental health. If you start the day with all the “bad” news that is reported from around the world, which does not nesessarily have any affect on your life directly, then why let it bother you and leave you feeling distraught for the whole day? If you must read a paper, then take a look at your local paper with stories that would directly affect you and then you could follow what is happening in your community.

Have a most outstanding day!

Let’s keep going as we are halfway now.

49: Sleep in pitch darkness. Apparently, if we do not sleep in complete darkness, we do not get the most restful sleep. Between the hours of 11pm and 3am is the most important time for our body’s melatonin function. Melatonin is a hormone secreted by the pineal gland. Just to go off on a tangent here, when I was studying for my Dip.Health Science, I always remember my instructor describing this pineal gland, which is part of the brain found at the base of the skull, and saying that when there was sunshine, the gland received light, therefore made us feel “happy” as compared to dull overcast days when it didn’t receive much at all. Who can relate to that? So… this melatonin is important in the regulation of our biorhythms, relating to physical, biological and intellectual cycles.

47: Avoid vaccinations. All vaccinations are immune suppressing. When a vaccine is administered, we trade off our whole immune system for the temporary immunity against one disease. Therefore, the trade is not at all fair. This link will take you to a site which tells you how to legally avoid vaccines.

45: Phillip says to attack political correctness. He suggests that the idea of not saying the wrong thing in case we give someone a mental condition is absolutely absurd. I believe that you cannot say the wrong thing to the right person.

43: Create Overwhelming Optimistic Experiences. In other words, create a bribe that gets you through the day. Have a different one for each day and fill your week. For example, if you achieve specific results at the end of each day, then treat yourself with a double scoop of chocolate fudge ice-cream sprinkled with nuts one day, maybe a night at the movies the next, buy yourself a bunch of flowers, get yourself that special coffee mug. Make yourself a list of 100 things that you want and start with that.

42: Eat Garlic. One of nature’s most powerful antibiotics is Allicin which is found in garlic, however, it is not present in garlic in it’s natural state. Garlic needs to be chopped or crushed in order for the Allicin to be produced. There are many resources on the Internet if you would like to know more about it.

More tomorrow…

Yours in good health

We are just about half way through the 100 ways to be Happier and Healthier.

60: Remove toxins from the work place and the home. One of the biggest factors that plays a role in cancer is in the presence of chemicals we surround ourselves with. The very first thing we do in the morning is go to the bathroom and douse ourselves with engine degreasant which is found in shampoos, conditioners and body washes. Then we brush our teeth with poison and spray aluminium under our armpits. What a deadly cocktail that is. There are many wonderful products out there which do not contain any of these harmful ingredients. If you read Phillip Day’s site, he does make some recommendations in there.

59: Avoid Cancer. Not too many people know this, but instead of having an x-ray which produces radiation which is cancer causing, there is an alternative called Infrared Thermography. So ladies, next time you need to have a mammogram, ask for the altternative.

58: Reduce or eliminate dairy. Casein, which is a protein precipitated from milk, and forming the basis of cheese and certain plastics, actually presents problems with the immune system. In the United States one dollar in every seven is spent on dairy and… dairy, believe it or not, is actually found to be the number one cause of osteoporosis. Have a look at www.notmilk.com for more information.

51: Be In Love. Why? Just do it!

Mmmmmmm………something else to think about.

You can find Phillip Day at www.phillipday.com for more about the man. But for now, more of his 100 list…

71: Eat less but often. Stick to small meals during the day as they are easier to digest and it tends to keep your body at a higher peak condition.

70: See the world and have no fear. Even with all that is happening in our world today, this must not stop you from doing the things you love to do and especially travel. If you have an agenda and want to travel, then get on a plane and enjoy yourself.

68: My favorite… laugh a lot. Now it might sound so simple, but the best medicine is laughter. No matter what concerns you may have, if you can switch your thoughts to something playful, or watch a funny movie or read a good joke, then by laughing, all the worries in the world will disappear.

67: Pay attention to chronic conditions. Doctors do have a role to play so if something is not quite right with you and your body, have it checked out.

66: Take 4 weeks holiday at a time. It takes a good 4 weeks to break any routines that you have so having time out for that long is a great way to relax.

65: Listen to what comes out of your mouth. Learn to master yourself and be aware of the language you use. Is it empowering or disempowering? Do you use positive or negative words? Once you know the words to use, it can change your whole outlook on your circumstances, and in turn, give you insights into why you feel the way you do.

64: Avoid psychiatrists!!! Phillip showed us a short video of psychaitrists being interviewed outside of one of their conventions. The reporter asked the qestion “What biological tests, if any, are there that measure chemical imbalances in the brain?” The answers were varied from “I don’t know”, “None that I know of”, “there are no biological tests to measure this”, “I just listen to what the patient has to say and then I make a judgement on his/her treatment”. I don’t think they have a clue… do you? Psychiatry is a fraud and medication is a poison which causes chemical imbalances in the brain.

Mmmmmm…….. something to think about……..

I am going to continue with some more of what I learnt from Phillip Day. He obviously did not share the whole 100 items on his list as we would have been there all night. So here it is…

86: Get a Hobby. These are a great relief from stress. While you work on your hobby, you tend to forget about the rest of the world.

81: Now we all know that in order to maintain good health we must drink at least 2 litres of water daily, but not just any water. A water filter that is supported by reverse osmosis is the best kind to have as this makes the water just about as pure as you can get. Now depending on where you live in the world, there are varying degress of Flouride in the water systems.

Here in Australia the levels are way too much. Flouride is a poison and in one tube of toothpaste, there is enough of it to kill a small child! There are alternatives out there so check out your health food stores to find them. If you happen to be concerned about the state of our water, then check out www.flouridealert.org

80: Live in the present. Not in the past and not in the future. Much of what makes up today and even tomorrow seems to be an extension or variation of what has come before. What we see as possible, or what we are working toward, is essentially a more, better, or different version of the past.

Leave the past where it belongs – in the past. Begin to design your life with free and authentic expression from what is possible. Create that new possibility for yourself and in doing this you will find that life is full of fun and vitality.

74: Reconcile your fear of death. In attending various seminars, I have been taken through the process of writing my own eulogy. What an experience. I don’t know about you, but writing down on paper what I would like said about me when I am gone makes me have a sense of urgency to achieve all my goals.

When you start to ask questions like Who am I? Where did I come from? What am I doing here? You start to realise that you had better find what you are here for and get on with it. Write down what you want and start to take some action towards achieving it. Afterall… we are only here for a short time.

I’ll let you ponder on that for now and get back to you later.

Yours in Prosperity

Some more of what I learnt from Phillip Day.

96: Be an “overcomer”. Well what do you think he means here? I took it to mean that you look at what everyone else is doing, and do the opposite. The majority of people just go with the crowd and do whatever their friends, neighbours or work colleagues are doing. Don’t follow the herd, breakthrough and get out of your comfort zone and get some different results.

95: “You are what you eat.” How many times have you heard that saying but still do nothing to make good choices for your health and your body. Yes, I am guilty too. Food can change your mood so next time you prepare a meal, make sure that you have more live, fresh food rather than white, red and white food! Nothing tastes as good as being healthy feels. At the very minimum, 20% of what you eat should be made up of grains, meat and dairy. The other 80% should be made up of fresh garden vegies and fruit, legumes and haricots. Eating raw is a good idea too.

For those of you that do not know, Phillip Day is passionate on educating citizens like you and me on how not to get cancer, and if we do happen upon it, then it can be reversed with good nutrition. Nobody with a healthy immune system gets cancer.

Stress is another factor in this equation. Stress is due to having repetitive routines so taking time out, and especially taking four whole weeks out one after the other is the best way to relieve those routines.

94:Psychiatry is the study of people who don’t need to be studied by people who do. Think about that for a second. Apparently, 100% of violent criminals are found to be hypoglycemic. Interesting don’t you think? The prostaglandin is the chemical mood modulator which is kept balanced by the Essential Fatty Acids (EFA’s) in the system. If we do not have enough EFA’s, then this leads to mood swings. EFA’s are essentially Omega 3 and 6. Oils found in fish. There are many supplements on the market and many children who get diagnosed with ADD or ADHD are found to calm down immensely and not be so violent if they are put on a course of EFA’s. Phillip Day’s book “The Mind Game” makes for some interesting reading on this.

Now I will throw this in as he did tend to go off on a tangent at times, but all which he spoke of was very interesting. Here is bit of trivia for you. Don’t ask me why this country was named, as I’m sure I missed the explantion for this one, but when doctors in Israel go on strike, 80% of the time, the death rate lowers by 50%. Go figure! The medical profession of course is very needed, but at the same time, they are governed and funded by the drug companies. Did you know that doctors are not trained in nutrition? They treat the symptoms but not the cause. Every disease is caused by some metabolic disruption in the system. This is why he stresses so much that good nutrition is paramount to a long healthy life.

There is plenty of good information here so take what you want and put it to good use.

Until next post…

Phillip Day… what can I say? ”Simple Changes – Your 100 ways to a Happier and Healthier Life.” I am going to include some links throughout this post that are just here for your information and further reading which I know will be helpful to many of you viewing this.First of all a little more about Phillip Day.

In his 20′s, he had family members that were dying of cancer and he wanted answers that nobody could give him. So he set out on a mission to find out the truth about cancer and has for the past two decades travelled around the world offering the truth in his speaking engagements.

This is one of his websites http://campaignfortruth.com/ which is a worldwide organisaton dedicated to educating the public on health issues and pressing for change in areas of science and medicine where long-standing scientific error, ignorance and vested interests are costing lives.

Millions today use nutritional supplements and alternative health strategies for themselves and their families, and yet, increasingly, the public’s freedom to choose is being eroded by government legislation and attempts by the pharmaceutical conglomerates to ‘buy out’ the alternative health market.

So here are some “Simple Changes” to consider.

100: Linking Pain and Pleasure.

Most of us link pain to exercise. Why? Youv’e heard it before “No pain, No gain.” This is just oozing linking the pain. This is the reason most of us do not exercise regularly. Most of you out there have iPods, yes? Well you put your favorite music on it and take it with you when you go to the gym. Another thing to do is to reward yourself. By this I don’t mean with (unhealthy) food. What I mean is to book yourself a regular massage for having worked out or whatever it is you like to indulge in. By linking pleasure to exercise, you are more likely to keep up the routine.

99: Your past does not equal your future.

Just because your life hasn’t exactly been what you expected it to be up until now, there is no reason that your future will have to be the same as the past. What I mean is, we look at our future and believe because of our past results we will get the same results in the future. Create a new possiblity for yourselves and strive for the future you dream of. Just by changing a few things and taking some steps, do something a little different and you will start to notice that the future will be different.

Write down your goals and revise them everyday until you get them exactly as you wish. Believe that you will achieve them and you will start to act in a certain way that in time, will bring you new results.

98: What do I wish to accomplish by bedtime tonight?

This one is pretty straight forward. When you wake up in the morning, ask yourself this question and write down the things that you wish to accomplish for the day. By working on this, you will find that you prioritise what is most important to do and by making a list of these things, you will find you actually get more done.

97: Avoid imagining the worst as worry is the cause of stress!

Why worry about something that has not happened yet? That is exactly what worry is. Imagination. Thinking of the worst possible scenario to fill your mind with needless images and thoughts. Instead, have faith! Faith is the expectation that something good will happen and our minds are better filled with these options.

I will leave you here tonight and continue next post. Phillip spoke for around 3 hours and we didn’t get throught the whole 100 things to do. I will give you some more later.

For now I am signing off and know that there is something here for you to think about already.

To Your Success!

Hi everyone… I have been doing a little revamping of my websites and now my blog. I have changed the look and know that you will love it too. This is a short post to inform you that I have just returned from an evening with Phillip Day, just for something different. He was born in England in 1960. He was educated at the leading British education establishments Selwyn and Charterhouse, and throughout his ‘20s had a successful entrepreneurial career founding businesses in sales and marketing. With a firm grounding in business and the ways of the media, Phillip’s research career began after he became interested in wars going on in the realms of health and politics over issues that were being deliberately withheld or misreported to the public. You will have to wait until tomorrow to find out about the “100 Ways to a Happier Life” which he spoke about as it is way past my bedtime…
