Here’s a quickie… Chilly from On the Bricks has asked me to help with the launch of Across The Universe by the Beatles as NASA is going to to the star Polaris, 431 light years away (that’s 431 years travel at the speed of light before our all-time favorite Beatles song reaches the 2.5 quadrillion miles away star). This is being done at 0:00 GMT February 4th, to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the song, the 45th anniversary of NASA’s Deep Space Network, an international network of antennas that supports missions to explore the universe, and the 50th anniversary of NASA.

NASA has invited people around the world to play Across the Universe on their audio systems at the same time NASA beams its mp3 version into outer space. The idea was hatched by Beatles’ historian Martin Lewis, who encourages all Beatles fans to play the track as it is being beamed to the distant star. Additionally, this date will be known as Across the Universe Day. The event marks the first time a radio song has been beamed into deep space.

I did play it at the correct time… just didn’t get to publish it on time! So I will leave this up for you to enjoy… Beatles fans everywhere… rejoice!

EDIT: Please note I removed the player as it was interfering with other videos etc on my site. Visit Chilly’s site to hear the Beatles sing “Across the Universe” Thanks, Ange.

As I mentioned in my last post, Twitter is a great place to get and share information with your friends. About one week ago, Ed Dale twitted this site and it went viral in no time. I must admit, it can get addictive and I have been one of those addicts.

So what am I talking about – you’re thinking. I am talking about a word game where every word you get right donates 10 grains of rice for the hungry via the United Nations.

FreeRice dot com was launched on the 7th of October, yes – just last month, and to date, there has been , 1,330,639,890 grains of rice donated.

How to Play the Game

So how does this game work. Well straight from the website, here it is:

Click on the answer that best defines the word.

If you get it right, you get a harder word. If wrong, you get an easier word.

For each word you get right, we donate 10 grains of rice to the United Nations World Food Program.

They do offer a WARNING: This game may make you smarter. It may improve your speaking, writing, thinking, grades, job performance… (more)

Check it out and have fun

… by the way… what do you think of my face-lift?

I know what you are thinking. Yeah – right. I have heard it all before. But what you don’t know is that this method I will be revealing is right now being tried, tracked and tested as we speak. One of the members on TaggZilla, Richard Tubbs, has developed a system called Site Club. So, unless you are a member there you probably would not have heard about this yet.

This is what is so great about the TaggZilla team. Testing methods and sharing the experiences with all members so that they can all have a piece of the pie, so to speak.

So what is a Site Club you ask. A Site Club is like your own personal blogroll on one main site that feeds to all your other sites. I cannot give you Richard’s details as the data would then be polluted. But what I can tell you is that on your main site under your blogroll, you would have text or box ads that are links to your other sites.

Using these techniques the last site Richard put up was ranked #2 in 2 hours, but even better, for his key word phrase he was also ranked #3, #4, #5, and #6 . This has been very successful for other people in our group as well.

How do you think some of the members get their sites ranked on the front page of google within hours of going live. It is all a matter of finding your niche, researching keywords and longtail keywords (keyword phrases). If you have also done the Thirty Day Challenge, you will have been through the process of researching your niche.

The best thing about Taggzilla is that all the members are making a contribution towards helping each other succeed. There are some writing articles, some exchanging resources, and all who are giving a bit of linklove (which I wrote about in an earlier article) to each others sites. It’s a system that works.

The Ultimate TaggZilla Widget

Something else that I want to bring to your attention is the great widget which is in my right side column that actually gives you a running scroll of the articles being submitted to the Taggzilla site by members. You can get one of these widgets customized for any blog so get one for your blog and keep up with the informative articles which will tell you what is going on and have all the information right at your fingertips.

To Our Success

How many of you do some kind of regular exercise? I have found over the years that I love to start a routine and then get so into it and then one day, it just stops. Does this sound like you or are you more disciplined than me?

We all know the benefits of regular exercise and that it does give you more energy to carry on through your day than if you don’t do any at all. Being fit is something that will keep you young not just physically, but also mentally. Having a fit and healthy body is beneficial to you and those around you as it makes you feel stronger, it keeps the blood flowing through your veins, and just makes you feel better generally.

The reason I bring this up is because I ran into a friend of mine last week who is a personal trainer and he invited me to join in on a Saturday morning gym group that he runs down at our local beach. This morning was a particularly glorious day so I walked to the location which overlooks the Sandringham Yacht Club, which is beautiful in itself, and joined Marc’s group.

There would have been around twenty people in all and I wasn’t sure what I was in for, but it was fun. Marc had us warm up by breaking into four groups, two groups opposite the other, and we had to run at each other and throw a ball as we crossed the other person. If you happened to drop the ball, everyone had to drop and do ten push-ups!! I dropped the ball twice so I wasn’t very popular

Then we had a set of exercises to do at our own pace and we would come back together at the end of the hour session for some stretching. Needless to say that my poor body is aching all over now and is in great need of a massage and some more stretching.

While we were going through our routines on the foreshore, there was another group of more mature people that gathered for what seemed like some kind of meeting until they started walking around in a circle and greeting each other with curious sounds and lots of laughter. I have heard of laughter therapy before but had never seen any group making each other laugh in a public place and I thought to myself… how cool is that! Here were a bunch of 60+ year olds laughing and dancing and roaring at each other on the Sandringham foreshore! I felt like graduating over to their group just to get in on the laughter.

Reward Yourself

I bring this up because we all know the benefits of a regular exercise routine so I won’t go into that. What I do want to say is that you also don’t need to beat yourself up if you don’t keep up with something regular. When choosing to take some kind of class or going for a walk, reward yourself by taking your iPod with your favorite music, audiobook or some thing that you are researching to listen to while you are doing your exercise as you can kill two birds with one stone and you don’t have to feel guilty that you are not at home doing housework or that you are missing out on some work that needs doing.

Some of you may choose to walk to the shops rather than drive, as not only is it exercise, but it is also good for the environment. Others may choose to just run around the block first thing every morning and that is all you need. You may even have a mini-tramp that is handy to take a break throughout your day and just jump for 5 or 10 minutes at different intervals when you get writers block or get distracted and need to get focused again.

Whatever you choose is great for you. If you have a regular routine, I take my hat off to you and if you don’t, just start slowly and get going with something that you can build on. There is no right or wrong way to do this as we each have our own set of circumstances and likes and dislikes. The best thing you can do is find a way to reward yourself for having taken something on that doesn’t have to cost anything like a bubble bath or just time out for you doing your favorite thing. A massage at least once a month is a good idea though if you are going to be engaging your body in some physical routine that it is not used to.

Take care of your body because it is the only one you get in this lifetime. Take time out to laugh and play everyday. Happy exercising and have fun with it

The Global Human Rights Torch Relay (HRTR) is an International Campaign seeking to end all human rights abuses against people in China. George Karahalios met with Erping Zhang in Athens 2 months ago together with CIPFG top members and assisted all of them with free publicity, produced a radio spot, liaised with the government of Greece and created an event in the central square of Athens.

  This is the “Goddess of Justice” who carried the torch at the HRTR kickoff in Athens, Greece, August 8th 2007.

Come run, skip, trot or walk in the Global Human Rights Torch Relay and tell China that hosting the Olympics means getting their act together in terms of human rights.

We all know that China was granted the right to host the Beijing Olympics after it promised to adhere to the Olympic charter and improve its human rights record.

BUT… it’s now less than a year before the Games kick off and human rights abuses in China are getting WORSE.

THE FACTS:

To this day, the Chinese Communist regime still:

* murders people for their organs and sells it on the lucrative foreign market: that’s right… according to the UN Rapporteur of Torture, the communist regime engages in the practice of forced organ removal from prisoners of conscience, most of whom are believed to be Falun Gong practitioners.

* Execute more prisoners than all the other countries in the world combined

* No freedom of belief

* No freedom of speech

* Severe internet censorship

* No rule of law

WHY SHOULD YOU CARE?

a) because you are Chinese (you love your country, you love your people so of course you don’t want your government killing your people).

b) because you are human (and you wouldn’t want your fellow human beings tortured or killed for their organs just because of their religious beliefs).

SO…

Say no to human rights abuses in an Olympic host country! Go to the Global Human Rights Torch Relay site and see when they will be at a location near you.

Just off the beaten track… my Facebook Profile has an application with WordPress blogging, so this is a test post and checking it out for later… the thing is that I can’t even see what I am typing as the… hang on… I just got into my editor in WordPress and wella… here is the post.

Now I have to tell you why I have this Facebook profile. I actually joined Facebook last month and hadn’t bothered to fill in any details. I did the same with Stumbleupon and Squidoo

This is all related back to my journey on learning how this Internet Marketing business works. The journey I started when I joined the 21st Century Academy and was introduced to the concept of making money while you sleep. Very cool idea… So I set up some profiles and I happened to come across the www.thirtydaychallenge.com and decided to join in and give it a go.

The challenge is to make your first $10 on the Internet in 30 days. The reason I was so interested is because this thirty day challenge is all about the new marketing strategies using Web 2.0 which is a whole new article in itself, but the gist of it is to use marketing tools and applications that are not just available on your laptop. You can extend yourself onto iPods and iPhones so you are downloadable in the form of podcasts and videos. Well not you but your content that is

Making money while you sleep is something that everyone dreams of and it is possible to do if you just give it a go. The challenge has already started and there is a bit to catch up on if you are interested. It’s a great way to learn and the best thing is that it is free to join. It’s their way of paying it forward so give it a go and learn from some very talented Internet Marketers.

Seeing as this is a test, I will sign off now and see how it looks in Facebook…

To Your Success

I was sent this little story in an email and it shows us how powerful our thougths can be. Through dominating thoughts in our conscious mind we voluntarily influence our sub-conscious, it doesn’t matter if these thoughts are negative or positive the sub-conscious will accept either. I felt it needed to be shared so here it is…

Frozen By Fear

The Little Engine That Could was a story that inspired many of us as children. The story tells of a small train that was faced with a steep climb up a very large hill. Half way up the hill the little engine started to feel as though it was an impossible task. Fear set in.

“Will I make it?” the train wondered. “What if I don’t? What if I run out of steam before I make it? What if I’m not equipped with a strong enough engine to handle this?”

The fear grew inside as his speed slowed with the climb. Soon he crawled to a stop. “I can’t make it,” he thought.

He was gripped with fear, paralyzed by it. Then things got even worse. He was now slipping backwards. His fear was now his reality. The top of the hill was out of his reach and he would never make it. As he slid backwards he yelled out, “I don’t want to fail!”

Then something inside him changed. In truth he really did want to be on the top of the hill, not forever stuck at the bottom to live in its shadow. Fear was replaced with determination, drive, and a desire to make it to the top. With all he had in him he focused on summoning the power he needed to stop the backward slide.

And he did it! He was now holding his ground on the hill. His excitement deepened his determination. Up the hill he began moving, ever so slowly, pulling the weight of the entire train behind him. He looked up toward the top of the hill and held clear in his mind the vision of making it. He became even more determined and that made him feel stronger. His confidence grew and he picked up more speed. The train didn’t feel so hard to pull now. He felt great strength within himself that he hadn’t known before; strength he had never needed before now. As he neared the top of the hill he felt unstoppable. He knew he was going to make it!

He did it! The little ol’train made it to the top of the hill and congratulated himself. It felt great to be at the top. Filled with joy, confidence and a passion for life he looked down the tracks eager to continue his journey. He saw another hill – bigger than the last! A big smile came over his face; for he truly understood there is no end to the hills! This filled him with a deep sense of peace and humility. He then further realized that the journey and the destination are one and the same.

He wondered how was it that at the half-way point he felt so overcome with the task and yet it was in him to make it. He was strong enough. Could it have been that as his fears grew, his thoughts were consumed with the vision of not making it? Failure almost became his reality. It was when he changed his focus – alerted his perspective – that he felt powerful. In fact, it seemed the more he believed in himself the stronger he felt, and the easier the climb became. His new focus became his new reality!

He admired just how powerful his thoughts are and he never took them for granted again. He became aware of his thoughts and he used them to go places he always wanted to go!

Remember: You are the conductor of your own train on the tracks of life and you are strong enough to go places you want to go. Don’t let a little hill stop you – choose the reality you wish to create, not the one you’re afraid might occur. Soon enough you’ll be able to say just like the little engine, “I know I can!”
