Today’s story touched me so much I wanted to share it with you. Author Wendy Betterini is an abundance coach and motivational writer.
For most of my adult life I believed that an attitude of gratitude is a good thing to have. As often as possible I tried to be humble and grateful for the blessings I received, but I didn’t fully grasp just how powerful a gratitude practice could be until I set an intention to “Live From Gratitude” for an entire day.

What does that mean, to “Live From Gratitude?” I decided that I would stay in a grateful state of mind and give deep, heartfelt thanks for everything I did, saw, felt, and experienced that day.

From the moment I opened my eyes early that morning, I began giving thanks for everything and everyone that entered my awareness. I thought about each of my family members and friends, and gave thanks for their presence in my life. I gave thanks for my home, my business, my car, my clothing, my health, and my cats.

As I moved through my daily activities, I gave thanks for everything I touched, ever ything I saw or heard, everything I felt, and everything that happened to me – even the annoying and challenging experiences. I gave thanks for our dishes and utensils as I washed them, as well as the water I was washing them in, and for my hands that enabled me to wash them.

A few of those items were wedding gifts for my husband and I, and as I washed each one, I recalled our wedding day with joy and gratitude, and gave thanks for my husband and the life we share together. During my business activities that day, I gave heartfelt thanks for my clients and the passionate work that fulfills me and allows me to make a difference in the world.

I also gave thanks for the challenges my work sometimes brings, simply because they strengthen me. I expressed sincere gratitude for everything I saw, heard, felt, did or experienced throughout the entire day, big or small, good or bad.

Not only did I SAY “thank you” for these things, I made sure to really FEEL the feelings of gratitude and appreciation for them. As I’m sure you can imagine, that was a LOT of gratitude! The results that came from my day of living from gratitude were astounding. It was one of the most powerful days of my life.

All day long I kept meeting the nicest, greatest people everywhere I went. My income for that day jumped up to roughly three times what it normally was, without me having to lift a finger to make it happen. I kept noticing awesome opportunities, tools, and resources that would help me grow my business or improve some aspect of my life.

Some of these things had been right under my nose all along, but I’d never noticed them before. I received so many great gifts as a result of my day of living from gratitude, but the true gift of that day is the way I felt all day long.

Never in my life can I remember feeling so humbled, so blessed, so RICH. Everything around me became SACRED in ways that I can’t even describe. Struggle, strain, anxiety, frustration, fear, anger . . . they all just faded away.

Everything I saw and experienced was uplifting, inspiring and beneficial. My life was transformed that day, into something that I never dreamed would be possible. I’d thought my life was good before that – but my new attitude of gratitude took it to a whole new level of goodness.

That day stands out in my memory as one of the best days of my life. In fact, it was so powerful that I’ve since adopted my “living from gratitude” mind-set as an ongoing intention. Every day I strive to live from gratitude – and each day gets more and more magical the longer I do it.

Try it yourself and see if it doesn’t have the same wonderful effect on your life.

Have you ever thought how courtesy is kindness in action? I was reading a snippet from Michael Josephson’s Character Counts site and came across this short story which grabbed my attention:

As a society we have become almost obsessed with identifying and asserting our rights – to think, say, and do what we want. That’s not surprising, given the history of our country and the prominent role the Constitution and Bill of Rights have played in shaping our culture.

We have a right to be unkind, thoughtless, and disrespectful – but it isn’t right. ?Ralph Waldo Emerson pointed out, “Life is short but there is always time for courtesy.”

The idea is to act in ways that make the people we are dealing with feel valued. Courtesy is kindness in action.

It starts with good manners – saying please, thank you, and excuse me. But real courtesy involves more thoughtful ways of showing respect. Courtesy is a form of kindness.? It matters how we address people and how we greet them, as well as how we eat, talk, and cough in their presence.

Courtesy involves remembering important occasions, buying thoughtful gifts, and sending personal thank-you notes.

Making people feel important is part of courtesy, so it’s important to remember that whether or not people remember what we say or do, they do remember how we made them feel.

Make eye contact, truly listen, and show genuine interest in the lives of others by asking them questions and remembering their answers. A good start is to keep in mind H. Jackson Brown’s insight: “Everyone you meet is afraid of something, loves something, and has lost something.”

Always be kinder than necessary because you can never be too kind.

This excerpt made me think about how we truly treat others. Everything we do even coughing and sneezing or how we eat in front of others reflects our treatment of them. Acts of kindness are the smallest gestures.

Now I’m guilty of thoughtlessness but considering it is disrespectful to others, it makes me want to cringe when I think of the times that I have forgotten events. There’s no point in beating myself up but rather make it better by tattooing dates on my forehead so I don’t forget them! Just kidding.

I’d like any help you might offer as to how to remember events. Diaries don’t work for me. I do add appointments in my mobile phone to remind me like dentist and doctor appointments but why does the other stuff go right out of my head? Does this happen to you to? Always remember that courtesy is kindness in action.

Have you ever been afraid of what others think of you? Why would you be? Each of us as individuals has that special something that makes us just us. We all have our fears and the person standing next to us has fears too, just like we do. Why is it that we perceive ourselves in a certain way and then think that others perceive us in the same way?

These are the questions we need to address from time to time to remind us of the special beings that we are. For now though, think about these statements below and ask yourself if you are being yourself. Leave your thoughts in the comments below.

A person with a positive behavior draws others’ like a magnet. After all, everyone would like to be around with a person who is strong and motivated, with the confidence to keep moving forward and not with a person who always stays stuck in one place and whines about his/her imaginary or real worries and insecurities.”

Yee Shun Jian believes adamantly that there is but little correlation between academic achievements and personal/financial success.

Shun Jian realized that unwittingly, like most people he knew, he had allowed himself to be caught up in the rat race. He had become a money making machine… for someone else! Formal education had prepared him to be an employee, trading time for money.

Ain’t that the truth!

You can read some of my ideas in a past post on Attracting Wealth. In this article I gave you a few tips on how you can create wealth rather than just making money. Let me know what you think.

Funny man Jim Carrey is probably best known for his comedic roles in the movies although I found some recent footage where he talks about thoughts and intentions in regards to Eckhart Tolle’s teachings.

Jim Carrey as you have never seen him before. His honest, candid, humble self discussing openly his life-long pursuit for meaning and purpose, his encounters with Awakening and his optimistic view of the emerging “New Earth.” source: eckhart tolle tv

Below this video is a transcription of his speech. These words are powerful to read as well as listen to and recommend that you read and watch this as many times as you need to get the message he is relaying.

Click here to view the embedded video.

Recorded at the 2009 Inaugural GATE Event (Global Alliance for Transformational Entertainment) Video was Shot and Produced by Eckhart Tolle TV.

Thoughts and Intentions by Jim Carrey

The transcript…

A few months ago after knowing Eckhart Tolle for a while and studying his books, I woke up and I suddenly got it. I understood how thought was an illusory thing and how thought is responsible for if not all, most of the suffering we experience.

And then, I suddenly felt like I was looking at these thoughts from another perspective and I wondered – Who is it that is aware that I’m thinking?

Suddenly I was thrown into this expansive, amazing feeling of freedom. Freedom from myself. Freedom from my problems. I saw that I was bigger than what I do. Bigger than my body. I was everything and everyone. I was no longer a fragment of the Universe, I was the Universe.

Ever since that day, I’ve been trying to get back there

It’s like riding a wave. Sometimes I’m on. Sometimes I’m off. But at least I know where I want to go and I want to take as many people with me as I possibly can because the feeling is amazing!

It’s our intention. Intention is everything. Nothing happens on this planet without it. Not one single thing has ever been accomplished without intention.

So, I started thinking about my life and this conference and what we’re about.

I looked back and I thought – “Well, I was two people my whole life. I was in the living room entertaining people… being a monkey… doing my thing for the company and trying to relieve my mother who was suffering. She had rheumatoid arthritis and everything under the sun was nagging at her to be free. I wanted her to realise that her life was worth something because she’d given birth to someone who’s worth something.

Then, I would go into my room and sit with a legal pad. I was a little kid and I would be there and I would try and figure out what it meant and what it was all about.

Why are we here?

What is this?

One day I read something from Buddha that said – “All spirituality is about relieving suffering.”

I suddenly realised that is what I’m doing in the other room. I’m aligned! My purpose is aligned with this so I felt incredibly lucky.

I lose sight of this all the time. I get caught up in different concerns and ego concerns but I’m so lucky to be part of this community and to do something that is of value.

My Thoughts

WOW!! How powerful is that? When I first discovered this video, it took me a few days to really get his words. I watched it over and over again. Obviously it made an impression on me so I had to share it with you.

Our thoughts are the reason everything happens whether they are good or bad. You are the conductor of your own train on the tracks of life and you are strong enough to go places you want to go. Don’t let a little hill stop you – choose the reality you wish to create, not the one you’re afraid might occur.

Eckhart Tolle’s A New Earth is the book that Jim Carrey’s speech is based on. There are mixed reviews about the book. The only opinion that counts though is yours. I’d love to hear your ideas and how Jim Carrey’s thoughts and intentions sit with you.

Australia Day has been previously known as Foundation Day and has also been referred to as Invasion Day by some groups within Australian society. The controversy stems from the belief that it was the destruction of Indigenous culture by the British.

Whatever your beliefs are of this day, my wish is for you to enjoy it and celebrate as you see fit.

How to Celebrate Australia Day

As far as I can tell there are no hard and fast rules on how to celebrate this day. The main thing is to enjoy yourself whatever you do. Celebrating with friends and family is always cool and as we know, the more the merrier extends to this holiday. Participate in any way you can and feel proud to be an Australian.

Activities can include :-

My Personal Development journey began 6 years ago and one of the many teachers I was introduced to was the legendary Jim Rohn. Late last night I learned of his passing and although it saddened me to hear this news, I was quickly reminded of the precious lessons I have learned from this man.

“Your personal philosophy is the greatest determining factor in how your life works out” ~ Jim Rohn

Jim Rohn

My shelves are filled with many of his audios and books on his recommended reading list. One in particular being the classic from author George S. Clason – The Richest Man in Babylon. The moment I heard about this book I quickly took action and went to purchase it.

It could almost be a text book for senior school to teach our children about money and finance and prepare them for the way they view their personal finances. The Richest Man in Babylon is a definite must have to empower yourself with the choices you make for your financial future.

Personal Development to Greatness

Jim Rohn and his teaching had a great impact on my life. I found a series of 3 videos I’d like to share with you so that you too may benefit from what Mr. Rohn taught me in your own way.

Part 1 – Personal Development and Money
We get paid for bringing value to the market place. It takes time to bring value to the market place however, we do not get paid for time. Mistakenly, a man says he is making $20 for an hour. Jim says that’s not true. If that was true, you could stay home and have them send you money, right? No, that is not true, we get paid for value and not for time. Jim asks the question: Is it possible to become twice as valuable and make twice the money in the same time?

This is a great lesson. Enjoy part 1.

Life Lessons by Jim Rohn

The difference between success and failure is the degree of commitment we give to seek out resources and apply ourselves.

Learn to be happy for happiness is activity with purpose and love in practice.

Discipline is the most critical ingredient for success. It is the master key that unlocks the door to wealth and happiness. It is the glue that binds inspiration to achievement and the bridge between thought and accomplishment.

The difference between discipline and regret is that discipline weighs ounces while regret weighs tons.

You cannot change your destination overnight but you can change direction.

Live well. Do not just learn how to earn, learn how to live. The good life is not an amount, it is an attitude, an act, an idea, a discovery.

Life is worthwhile if you try to make progress. Life is worthwhile if you GIVE because giving starts the receiving process. Life is worthwhile if you PLAN. Design your own life or someone else will. Let others live small lives but not YOU.

This is a snippet from Lessons on Life by Jim Rohn. These are very simple philosophies to live by. It’s your choice.

I knew there was a very good reason I liked Sean Rasmussen from the moment I met him back in 2005.

Having bought a product from him online, he immediately contacted me and offered me support which was one, very unusual, or so I thought from having bought various products online prior to this one and never hearing boo from the vendor, and two, he actually called me on the phone from the other side of the country.

Not only did I immediately feel privileged by receiving the call, I also thought this guy is genuine and cares for his customers. Over the last four years I have been blessed to feel like family having met his beautiful wife Cherie and their two sons Timothy and James.

A couple of months ago, a small group of us ventured over to the Western state to enjoy their hospitality for a team celebration and I can tell you, it felt like a family reunion.

10 Scholarhips to the YOTA Private Internet Marketing Forum

Sean Rasmussen has announced today that he has given away 10 Scholarships to his YOTA private Internet Marketing Forum valued at $24,000 which shows just how generous and caring a man he is. Having received over 400 applications over the weekend, he promised only 3 full time scholarships for the period of 12 months with full access to his team of moderators where these lucky winners will be personally mentored by Sean.

The overwhelming reply for scholarships made him decide to give away 10 full time scholarships instead. I don’t know about you but I feel like celebrating and dancing today. I’ve provided a track you get you Pumped so join me.

I want to say a big Thank You to Sean for all his support and mentoring over the years which has enabled me to do what I love to do and that is Turn my Passion into Dollars. I know the members of the forum will benefit greatly under his mentoring too.
