Hi Emma, I called the Melbourne City council and asked for permission. There was no permit involved. Call your local council or the area you are thinking of doing this and check with them. Letting them know is safer than not telling them.

I’d have to go to Australia to do any free hugging. Where I am right now I can be charged with sexual harassment, or acts of lasciviousness. LOL!

But I agree with you on what it can do and what it could mean to all those who are involved in such an activity.
